CHRISTMAS EVE PANCAKE BREAKFAST By Pauline Matus

Its Christmas time fast approaching and everyone in the town of West knows what that means. Free pancakes! It is time for the annual Sykora Family Ford Pancake breakfast. We serve pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, and coffee every Christmas Eve morning to almost a thousand people. It is quite a sight to see.

If you have never been to one of our breakfasts, you need to come this year and check it out. We have valet parking, Santa is supposed to drop by, free breakfast starting at 6am, and a ton of good cheer to spread. The whole company gets in on it and gives back to the community through a happy and full belly. It’s great!

We all start out by cleaning the shop a couple days in advance. That means big machines are moved, the concrete is steam cleaned, tables and chairs are set up, and lights are hung. Next, we move cars out of the way so that we can have the valet parking space.

From then we pick teams. We have the Green Bay Parkers, the Sweet and Sticky Butter Boys, the Key Queens, the Fabulous Flippers, the Sausage Servers, and the Juicers R Us. There is one boss on each team that picks their teammates. It’s fun to see who gets in the draft and who gets picked for what duties.

And trust me when I say that we are a well oiled machine. From 6:30am to about 10am we serve around a thousand guests and never (knock on wood) get bottlenecked up. This is because each employee is dedicated to make it such a great experience for you and your family.

So what’s so special about the breakfast? Probably getting to see all the faces you’ve seen come into the dealership over the years enjoy themselves with their families, and when they bring guests it’s even better. The look of awe when you see that many people in a room eating and enjoying themselves is a heartwarming reminder of what family and Christmas should be. Not about how big the present is or who got who what, but the simple act of eating and talking to each other face to face is a joy overlooked more these days.

So consider this your official invite from Sykora Family Ford and all of its employees to come and share a meal with us on Christmas Eve morning from 6:30am till 10am. We would love to see you there!
