It is amazing to me how fast time goes by. This is especially true when it comes to being an amateur blog writer for a dealership website. The last blog I posted back last September was about the “Evos” concept car that Ford came out with and now as I am writing this blog, Ford has just revealed the new 2013 Fusion at the North American car show. The new Fusion took many styling cues from the Evos concept and should be an awesome car for our dealership.

It has been a long time since a Ford concept car has gotten me excited. Mainly because we live in truck country and sell way more trucks than cars, but also because Ford cars historically (other than the Mustang) have been yawners. And this is coming from a Ford guy that cut his teeth in a Ford dealership.

One of the big reasons for our success in the body shop is having the right equipment to fix today’s vehicles. Heck, we had a wire-feed type welder in our service department for years and I figured that we would get a new one for the body shop and still use the old one also. Boy was I wrong! The automobile industry has started using all kinds of exotic high strength metals in its vehicles and that make the vehicles safer to drive and lighter for better fuel economy. To be able to repair these vehicles back to the factory specs, you have to use the right equipment.

There are many benefits to financing your vehicle purchase through Ford Credit. First of all, Ford Credit’s interest rates are competitive with banks and credit unions. Ford Credit will treat every vehicle you have financed with them independently. If you have multiple vehicles financed at a single bank or credit union, they have the ability to attempt to collect on every vehicle even if you fall behind on payments on just one of the vehicles. Banks and credit unions can also tie up any funds that you may have in savings or checking accounts with that bank or credit union.
